Studio Swine – Eden Project
Invisible Worlds, 2018
Design, fabrication, and installation of a 9m tall sculpture in the Eden Project.
The 20-tonne sculpture is reportedly the largest ceramic sculpture in the world, and is inspired by cyanobacteria, one of the smallest living creatures. The sculpture has a mild steel armature that supports 16 tonnes of ceramic tiles.

Through initial engineering design, the White Wall drew the 257 ceramic shapes and mapped them to the steel armature that also functioned as a work access tower, leaving enough tolerance for the ceramic to shrink at different rates as it was manufactured.
