Jasleen Kaur – Gravesend, Kent
The first thing I did was to kiss the ground
Fabrication and installation of the Jasleen Kaur commission for England’s Creative Coast 2021 at Gravesend, Kent. A painted fibreglass sculpture in the shape of a head appears over the top of CNC plywood ‘waves’, painted with marble effect. The artwork is supported by a welded welded aluminium framework. The head is positioned looking out over the Gravesend pontoon.
