John Booth, Citypoint
The Painted Picnic
The Painted Picnic is an immersive artwork piece installed outside of Citypoint – commissioned and curated by Brookfield Properties in time for the 2025 Summer Sounds Music Festival.
The artwork has sixteen individual components installed in two phases. Designed to resemble every-day items and for public use, the playful installation consists of large tables and seating which provides a pop of colour within the inner city. The artwork components are primarily made from plywood panels fixed to timber frames with additional elements including folded aluminium and steel framing. All the elements are a painted finish.
The artwork will be installed at Ropemaker Street until September 2025.
